Stephen Thomforde will take us back to 1491 to describe our amazing regional oak savanna, then move forward to frontier settlement and up to the present. The talk will conclude with ideas of ecological restoration and what the Bloomington Minnesota River Valley could look like again. Then walk with Stephen into the valley to look at current restoration, old growth oak trees, and Native encampments at Pond Dakota Mission.

Stephen has 27 years of experience in ecological restoration. His designs are considered cutting edge, and the outcomes are highly successful.
