Dr. Bruce Forbes, professor of Religious Studies at Morningside College in Sioux City, Iowa, will share insights from his latest book, America’s Favorite Holidays: Candid Histories, about Christmas, Valentine’s Day, Easter, Halloween, and Thanksgiving. He will include some comments about how Puritans viewed holidays (which influenced the Ponds) and which holiday traditions reach back to frontier days.
