John Haymond, Executive Director of the Mower County Historical Society, will examine the 1862 military commission trials, the role of Dakota culture in the context of lawful warfare, sovereignty, the atrocity allegations, 19th-century military law and how the U.S./Dakota War of 1862 has been depicted over the past 154 years.
